Can love be an allergy?

In my latest poem/song, I try to answer that question. If love for someone is an allergy, is it something we want cured, or something we are willing to live with for the rest of our lives? Interesting analogy, right? Enjoy.

I'm Allergic To Your Love (And I Like It)

All the coughing & the wheezing
All the sniffles & the sneezing
Have been running circles 'round in my head.

Ever since you came to me
You fulfilled my fantasy
And your sickness has me locked in my bed.

But I'm allergic to your love and I like it.
When you're with me, I get chills... I can't fight it.
Every symptom in the book
Just one look is all it took
The diagnosis is that I'm just excited.

I've been given a prescription
To sedate this huge addiction
But I really think that isn't the cure.

Because we're walking hand in hand
And I know this wasn't planned.
This disease is what I've been looking for.

But I'm allergic to your love and I like it.
When you're with me, I get chills... I can't fight it.
Every symptom in the book
Just one look is all it took
The diagnosis is that I'm just excited.

So beyond my runny nose
My love for you just grows & grows
Can't even stop it with a piece of tissue.

Along with nasal decongestion
All I have is just one question:
Despite all this, do you love me too?

But I'm allergic to your love and I like it.
When you're with me, I get chills... I can't fight it.
Every symptom in the book
Just one look is all it took
The diagnosis is that I'm just excited.
