Did ya feel out of place a tad bit?

I sure have ... especially if I'm hanging out with friends ... and there's 3 of us ... and the other 2 are a couple. Oh yeah THAT feeling ... that lovely 3rd wheel feeling. I get hit by it in a little different way though, since I do have a boyfriend. This poem is somewhat of a testament of how I feel in those type of situations. I can't help it. Enjoy.

3rd Wheel

I truly felt like I didn't belong.
The radio happened to be playing their song.
Every time they had some PDA,
I'd think about my love whom who lives far away.
It didn't help that they were so glad ...
I had to stare out into the distance to hide I was sad.
I'd try not to think ... I'd try to block it out ...
But I just couldn't do it ... the memories were stout.
They'd be hugging in their seats, and cuddling close ...
And I didn't want my teary eyes to be exposed.
The longing and the wanting for that someone gets tough,
Especially when your surrounded by couples doing that stuff.
No matter how hard you try to not to be affected ...
It's always your lonely heart that seems to be selected.
They'd try to support you and say "don't feel like that,"
But it's hard to remove feelings at the toss of a hat.
I still honestly miss how wonderful they feel
I really hate when I end up the 3rd wheel.

Old School ^_^

I only began writing poetry consistently when I was a sophomore in high school ... but while I was in junior high, we were required to write poems as well. Of course, back then my grammar and vocabulary were rather limited, but I was still able to create these poems ... old school poems hehe. Enjoy.

When The Rain Goes Away

Outside I will see
My friends happily,
And then I will play
When the rain goes away.

The sun will shine bright
Until it becomes night.
Then, I will sleep in the hay
When the rain goes away.

Then morning will come
With the big morning sun.
Then I'll play all day
When the rain goes away.

Hate

Devilish redness in my eye.
You can see the darkness in the sky.
When it comes to you, you will shout out,
"Hate is here!" Hate, you shout!

A crooked smile on an evil face,
Comes straight to you like a cheetah on pace.
You think to yourself, "Why, oh why?"
It's because hate loves you, that's why.

When the darkness ends, and the sun comes out
The people will praise you! They shout out ...
"Hate has left you, hate is gone!
It just left at the stroke of dawn."
